Another round of snow hit the metro area Friday causing a messy commute home for drivers. It comes just days after another significant snow event left five to eight inches of snow in the Indianapolis area. Days later, crews with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works were still working around the clock to clean roads. On Thursday, a spokesperson with the department said plows shifted their focus to side streets after clearing main thoroughfares on Wednesday. "So far for this snow event, we have put in more than 7,300 man hours. We've plowed about 45,000 miles of road throughout Indianapolis," said Kyle Bloyd, a spokesperson for Indy DPW. However, 13News heard from several neighbors and also City-Council councilors who were frustrated by the city’s snow removal response. The three main concerns: the number of plows available, contractors not being used and residential roads being ignored.
