Description
Some people in Indianapolis were forced to walk in the street on Monday instead of the sidewalk because the sidewalks were still snow-covered.
That part of the snow removal process is on residents and business owners — not the city.
Brian Bonds was one of those people. He normally bikes or walks to and from work. On Monday, Jan. 6, he chose the latter because of the snow. He had mixed emotions about the walk.
If you are physically unable to clear snow from your sidewalk, you must either hire a contractor, ask a neighbor to help or contact 211 for assistance. If not, you could face a $50 fine.
The law also states you must keep the area around your mailbox clear for your mail carrier.
