Description
Brooke Raufeisen is known to be kind, a nurturer, and a light to many.
"She said the Lord's Prayer and then she believed in crystals, and she just had this spirituality that I've never seen in a human before," said Brooke's mother, Jolie Thompson.
But in October — that light was taken from those around her after she was killed.
IMPD responded to the 8400 block of Chateaugay Drive, near West Stop 11 Road and Railroad Road, on a report of a death investigation on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.
When officers arrived at the home on the south side of Indianapolis, they said they found a woman, later identified as Raufeisen, with trauma injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, IMPD said the coroner's office ruled Raufeisen's death a homicide.
"The fact that I saw her two weeks before was amazing, but the last text I sent her, the last words I said to her was, 'I love you, kid,'" said Thompson as tears filled her eyes.
