Description
Russian national Svetlana Dali, who evaded security to be a stowaway on a New York-to-Paris flight last month, was taken into custody at the Buffalo border according to officials on Monday.
Dali will be in court on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Buffalo. After the initial hearing, she will be transferred back to the eastern district of NY, according to officials.
Svetlana Dali, 57, claims she'd tried to sneak into secure areas of other U.S. airports before in a bid to travel without a ticket, a prosecutor said Friday.
Dali told investigators that she had tried to travel for free at several domestic airports, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brooke Theodora said at a bail hearing as she described concerns by the government that Dali might flee while awaiting trial on a stowaway charge.
