Description
"It's not a coming-of-age story — it's a coming-to-terms story."
That's how Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu ("Everything Everywhere All at Once," "Joy Ride") describes "Laid," which follows her character, Ruby, a woman in her 30s who finds out everyone she's slept with is dying in unusual ways.
Ruby and her best friend, AJ (Zosia Mamet), put together a sex timeline to try to get to the bottom of what's happening and prevent more deaths.
"We shot eight episodes in eight weeks, which is incredibly ambitious and a lot of work and long days, but honestly, it was one of the greatest experiences of my career," said Mamet ("Girls," "The Flight Attendant"). "There was such a vibe of joy on set. Everybody came every day to work with a desire to have fun and enjoy."
All eight episodes of "Laid" are released Dec. 19 on Peacock.
