Description
At least 12 people were arrested early Wednesday as part of a DEA-led drug sweep at locations in multiple central Indiana counties.
A DEA spokesperson confirmed the raids have taken place Nov. 20 at approximately 15 locations in four central Indiana counties, including Marion, Hamilton and Johnson counties, with law enforcement serving federal search and arrest warrants.
As of 7:30 a.m., some of those searches remain ongoing.
The spokesperson said the sweep is part of a long-term investigation of a "substantial drug trafficking organization" in central Indiana, which is alleged to have been involved in trafficking large quantities of meth, fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana and has had violence associated with them.
