More central Indiana communities are adding Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas.
The City of Tipton announced Wednesday, Nov. 13 the creation of a DORA, which will allow residents and visitors to drink alcoholic beverages outside and in specific businesses in the city.
The Muncie City Council officially approved the creation of three DORAs, the city announced Thursday, Nov. 14, describing the measure as "aimed at enhancing local tourism, supporting small businesses, and promoting a vibrant, social atmosphere in key districts."
The DORAs will be located in downtown Muncie, Ball State University Village and McKinley. They will allow people to legally carry and consume alcoholic drinks in certain outdoor public spaces in those three areas.
