IMPD is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon on the city's east side.
Police responded to a report of a person shot around 2:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the 3600 block of North Post Road, near East 36th Street, at a plasma donation facility.
Officers arrived and found a man who had been shot inside the business. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
A witness, who told 13News he was inside the facility when the shooting began, said he heard several shots.
Shortly after the incident, officers quickly responded to the 7500 block of Ruskin Place, near East 38th Street and Shadeland Avenue, and took a man into custody without incident. Police said he is believed to be the person of interest in the incident. This location is approximately 1.5 miles from where the shooting happened.
Police said they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time.
