One person is dead following a shooting on Indy's east side Saturday night. According to IMPD, just before 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, officers were called to the 2000 block of North Drexel Avenue, near East 21st Street and Emerson Avenue, on a report of a shots being fired in the area. When officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Jeique Dejuan Peters shot. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Police say an Amazon delivery driver was finishing a delivery when they noticed a body in the street. Police described the delivery driver as "shocked" and said they arrived shortly after the delivery driver noticed the body. The driver is not believed to be involved. The Marion County Coroner’s Office ruled Peters' death a homicide.
