Description
Three minors were taken into custody Friday morning on Indianapolis' northwest side after a police chase connected to multiple recent armed robberies, police said.
An IMPD spokesperson said that "with the assistance and cooperation of victims, community members, and the use of License Plate Reader (LPR) technology," officers located a car that had been involved in the robberies, which took place Thursday evening into early Friday morning.
With assistance from Speedway police, IMPD officers attempted to stop the car around 6 a.m. Oct. 4, leading to a chase. During that chase, the suspect car crashed into a stopped car near the intersection of West 38th Street and Georgetown Road. First responders removed the driver of the uninvolved car and took the driver to a local hospital to be checked out with "only minor injuries and a complaint of pain," an IMPD spokesperson said in a statement.
The suspect car continued on but crashed nearby in the 3900 block of Georgetown Road. Three minors ran from the car, with two quickly taken into custody by officers, the spokesperson said.
A drone and IMPD K-9 located the third suspect.
