Winter coat collection for The Salvation Army of Central Indiana's annual Coats for Kids program is now underway. The program, in partnership with WTHR and Classic Cleaners, collects winter coats, gloves, hats and scarves to serve more than 2,500 children in central Indiana. Donations of new or gently used winter coats in all sizes are being accepted through Oct. 19 at any Classic Cleaners location. Collection boxes are located at the front of each store. Alternatively, every donation of $25 to The Salvation Army's online coat shop allows the organization to buy a coat for a child registered in the program. The Coats for Kids distribution event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds' Blue Ribbon Pavilion, located at 1202 E. 38th St. in Indianapolis.
