Description
Franklin police on Monday, July 14, announced major new developments in the more than 30-year-old case of an unidentified baby stabbed to death and left in a trash can.
On April 13, 1994, two juveniles searching for recyclables while walking home from school found the body of an unidentified newborn girl in a trash can at Temple Park in Franklin. An autopsy revealed the baby's cause of death as multiple stab wounds, and the death was ruled a homicide.
Officers investigating the case named the child "Baby Hope" with help from the community, which collected donations to provide a funeral and headstone for the infant.
