IMPD is investigating a shooting Saturday afternoon on Indy's east side. According to IMPD, around 6:42 p.m. on July 5, patrolling officers in the 4000 block of East Michigan Street, near North Chester Avenue and North Grant Avenue, were flagged to a reported person shot. When officers investigated, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was initially reported to be in critical condition, but an IMPD spokesperson later confirmed to 13News that she is now in "stable" condition.
