Description
People across Indianapolis are dealing with the aftermath of several weekend shootings.
Thatcher Park was quiet and calm on Monday, a stark contrast to the violence there on Saturday night. Two people were shot, killing 36-year-old Courtney Haynes, during a family gathering.
IMPD Ofc. Tommy Thompson said the community needs to hold themselves accountable by not bringing weapons and avoiding violence when there is a problem.
"Everybody here, when we get into a conflict, has to know when they need to walk away, step away, use that resolution, that skillset," Thompson said. "Leave the situation, but don't agitate it."
