Cumberland police are investigating after a boy died following a shooting early Friday morning. The shooting was reported shortly after 1 a.m. June 27 in the 11500 block of Dunshire Drive, near Washington and North Muessling streets. Responding Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department officers found a 12-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound, who was taken to an Indianapolis hospital. That boy's condition was initially "very critical," but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
