In the dead of night on July 2, 2015, a train car carrying over 20,000 gallons of a toxic chemical known as acrylonitrile derailed here near the railroad crossing on Singleton Station Road in Maryville.
Thousands of people were evacuated from their homes for 36 hours as they dealt with the impact of what happened.
