More than 70 horses — including foals and likely pregnant mares — have been removed from a property in Colorado and are now receiving critical care at Humane Colorado's Harmony Equine Center after a coordinated effort with law enforcement.
The Montrose County Sheriff's Office said investigators seized 79 horses, as well as some dogs, from a property in that county in early July, after complaints about the animals' well-being. MCSO said the case remains under investigation, and the property owner is not facing criminal charges at this time.
