Description
Tropical Storm Dexter continues to quickly moving farther into the north Atlantic. No threat to land.
Elsewhere, the NHC is highlighting an area off the SE coast at a now lower 30%. The associated wave as moved farther offshore and models not very aggressive with development. If it were to occur, it would happen much farther offshore.
Embedded withing a long band of convection in the tropical Atlantic is a disturbance with a medium chance for development in the next 3 to 7 days. NHC has classified this as Invest 96. Models tend to keep this also over the open water, with a turn toward the NW, then N and away from the islands.
More development is expected across the main development region (MDR) of the Atlantic in the coming days/weeks, but this is normal. No immediate threats to the Gulf at this time.
