Sept. 9 on The Story: Yesterday, Tigard Mayor Heidi Lueb dropped a bombshell. In a lengthy letter posted to her website, she said she was resigning, effective immediately. One big reason, she explained, was a lot of behind-the-scenes conflict that now threatens to spill out into the public eye. She described disputes with city staff that resulted in an investigation into complaints against her, culminating in a report she expects to leak in spite of assurances otherwise. Meanwhile, she said her mental health has suffered and she wants to focus on being a parent. Residents of Tigard who spoke with KGW were blindsided by the news.
