Description
Aug. 13 on The Story: Where Northeast Weidler curves nearly 90 degrees onto 24th Avenue in Portland, a house has become notorious among the neighbors for all the many times drivers have plowed right into it, having failed to negotiate the curve. It's an old complaint for the city, one that's culminated in a lawsuit filed by the property owners, after last crash ignited a gas line and very nearly burned the house down. Now, at last, PBOT has embarked on a series of traffic changes for the area that are meant to slow people down and keep drivers from causing so much damage. Some neighbors are thrilled, while others think it's not a plan worth the effort.
