Description
At North Central High School, girls are breaking stereotypes.
They are strong. They are fast. They are fierce, and under the lights of the football stadium, they are successful.
"Girls can play football just as good as boys can," said Breanna Hampton, a senior at North Central and a captain of the girls flag football team.
"I think we are definitely making history," said co-captain, Cassidy Daniels. "We are setting the precedent for future generations to take on flag football as a girls sport."
It's the first year girls flag football is recognized as an emerging sport by the Indiana High School Athletic Association. It's the first step in becoming a fully sanctioned sport.
