Description
New Jersey native Jeremy McCavera dreamed of going to college at a big-time school.
"When he applied and was accepted to IU Bloomington, he was over the moon with that and very, very excited," said Jeremy's father, Mike McCavera.
Jeremy studied Sports Marketing and Communications and then moved back to New Jersey. But in late 2024, he reported back pain, plus trouble eating and sleeping. Doctors ran tests.
"A technician came in and said there are three masses in your body, it appears to be cancer. Someone will be down to talk to you shortly," McCavera said. "My son asked me two questions: He said, 'is this a joke? And am I gonna die?' After a few more tests, it was confirmed it was testicular cancer."
