A Shelbyville mother has been charged with neglect following the death of her toddler. Sophie Igou, 28, was charged Sept. 23 with two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in death and three additional counts of neglect of a dependent, according to online court records. According to court documents, Sophie called 911 around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 and said that her "baby was dead."
