Description
The last stragglers at the Fountain Square homeless camp have been removed, along with their tents. The removal happened the morning of Thursday, Sept. 18, the day after the Office of Public Health and Safety announced a cutoff for the people staying in the camp.
13News was there as cleanup crews loaded garbage from the camp along Leonard Street into waiting trucks under the watchful eye of IMPD officers. They left behind bare earth and a few, empty trash cans.
For months, residents have been telling 13News about the large camp. They complained of trash and feeling unsafe, and demanded action for the city of Indianapolis.
