Description
Starting Monday, Aug. 11, the city of Indianapolis will move a homeless encampment out of Fountain Square.
But just one day before the move, around a dozen tents are still up on Leonard Street, and the people are packing up.
At the end of July, the city announced it would be closing the encampment that has been sitting across the street from Fountain Square residents. Over time, those residents told 13News that tents would go up and people would move in on the city's land, making some worry about their safety. However, they say now they are thankful the city is stepping in.
