Description
A library director in northeastern Wyoming’s Campbell County will receive a $700,000 settlement after suing her former employers, claiming she was fired for resisting book bans.
Terri Lesley, who served as the library system director in Gillette, was terminated in July 2023 after spending two years refusing to remove books covering teen sex education and LGBTQ+ topics from youth shelves. The dispute drew national attention and sparked debate over censorship in public libraries.
