Description
A cold front arrived in Colorado for the start of autumn on Monday, bringing rain, snow and cooler temperatures to Colorado's forecast.
The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team issued a Weather Impact Alert for Tuesday due to the temperature drop, Denver-area rain and the first notable Colorado mountain snow of the season.
The cold front has dropped temperatures on Tuesday into the 50s for a high temperature in Denver. Any outdoor plans should prep for rain and potentially plenty of it. The severe weather threat is low in Colorado.
A Winter Weather Advisory, the first anywhere across the state of Colorado in four months, has been issued for the higher elevations across Colorado's central and northern mountains.
The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team said 3 to 8 inches or more of snow will fall through 6 p.m. Tuesday with a slick drive at or above pass level in the mountains.
Some computer models show the potential for an inch or more of rain in the Denver metro area which would be a near-drought busting type of rain.
