Description
After state regulators found improperly stored human remains at a mortuary operated by the Pueblo County coroner during their first inspection of the business since a new state law went into effect, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has confirmed the total number of bodies found.
On Tuesday, CBI said a total of 24 bodies along with multiple containers of bones and several containers of probable human tissue representing an unknown number of deceased individuals had been taken from Davis Mortuary and sent to the El Paso County Coroner's Office for attempted identification. On Monday, CBI said the process of identifying the bodies found will take months.
