January 28, 1970 The Hotel Del Coronado is opening a new restaurant. It will be called "The Prince of Wales Grille." One of the world's storybook romances is rumored to have started at the Hotel del. It was there that Wallis Simpson met the Prince of Wales - they are now known as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The name is in honor of the prince’s visit fifty years ago.
