Description
Adult 17-year periodical cicadas (Magicicada septendecim) and molted skins (exuviae) cling to the side of an oak tree after emerging from their 17 year underground nymphal stage. A chorus of adult males singing can be heard in the background. Brood II 17-year periodical cicadas emerged to breed in the spring of 2013 after last being seen in 1996. A chorus of adult males singing can be heard in the background.
