Description
A male Giant Ichneumon (Megarhyssa macrurus) wasp attempts to inseminate a female prior to her emergence in spring from inside a fallen log where she has parasitized a Pigeon Horntail (Tremex columba) larva. A male M. greenei in the background is part of this same swarm.
